Wailea Wine - Best of Maui 2009 - Maui News

Whether you’re a merlot maven or a Riesling devotee, Wailea Wine is sure to stock something to quench your thirst. But what’s a good glass of wine without all the fixings? The store also offers the little things that enhance it, including a delicious selection of cheeses, local products like steaks and gelato, pastas, chocolate and more.

While some say that location is everything, this off-the-beaten-path winery and gourmet store proves that there’s more to success than having a Main Street address. Tucked inside the Wailea Town Center, the cozy outlet is stocked with hundreds of wines from across the globe. One reason customers keep coming back: owners Alan and Diane Beaurline run the place like a true mom-and-pop establishment.

Visit the store and you’re sure to find the couple stocking the shelves or discussing wine preferences with customers. It’s this personalized customer service that sets Wailea Wine apart from your average supermarket or liquor superstore. In fact, each bottle of wine must first pass Alan’s taste test, with only about 3 percent of the products making it on the shelves. Cheers to that!
